Retisil® 120 ml is a natural multi-component formula with blueberries and cranberries to support eye health and prevent age-related changes. Contains a unique formula of powerful plant extracts based on cranberry and blueberry juice concentrates combined with extracts of rosehip, grape seeds, nettle, lemongrass, green tea, liquorice and zinc lactate. Helps improve blood circulation and metabolism in the retina, prevents optic nerve atrophy and angiopathy, supports and improves vision, actively prevents degenerative changes in the retina, relieves eye fatigue, and improves vision in low light conditions.

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is the leading cause of blindness in people over 50. It affects the macula (yellow spot), the area of highest visual acuity. Drusen (deposits) accumulate, and photoreceptors and pigment epithelium degenerate. The ‘dry’ form progresses slowly. The ‘wet’ form with neovascularisation (growth of abnormal blood vessels) leads to rapid vision loss. Diabetic retinopathy is damage to the retina in diabetes with microaneurysms, haemorrhages, exudates, macular oedema, and neovascularisation. Optic nerve atrophy is the degeneration of nerve fibres in glaucoma, ischaemia, inflammation, and trauma.

Blueberry juice concentrate is rich in anthocyanins, dark blue and purple flavonoids that have powerful ophthalmoprotective properties. Anthocyanins improve microcirculation in the retina and vascular membrane of the eye, strengthen capillaries, and reduce their permeability. They protect photoreceptors from oxidative stress, which is particularly intense in the retina due to high metabolism and constant exposure to light. Anthocyanins stimulate the regeneration of rhodopsin, a light-sensitive pigment in the rods of the retina that is responsible for twilight and night vision. This explains the traditional use of blueberries by pilots during World War II to improve night vision.

Clinical studies show that blueberries improve the eyes' adaptation to darkness, increase visual acuity in low light conditions, reduce eye fatigue when working at a computer, and improve contrast sensitivity. Blueberries are effective for myopia (nearsightedness), diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, and glaucoma. Anthocyanins also have anti-inflammatory effects, reducing inflammation in the eye in cases of uveitis and retinitis.

Cranberry juice concentrate contains type A proanthocyanidins, unique flavonoids with powerful antioxidant and angioprotective effects. Proanthocyanidins strengthen collagen in the walls of capillaries, improving their elasticity and strength. Cranberries also contain vitamin C, organic acids and flavonoids. They improve microcirculation in the retina, which is critically important as the retina has one of the highest metabolic rates in the body and requires an intensive blood supply.

Grape seed extract is rich in oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPCs), one of the most powerful natural antioxidants. OPCs protect the collagen and elastin of the vascular walls from destruction by free radicals and enzymes (elastase, collagenase). They improve the elasticity and strength of the capillaries of the retina and choroid (vascular membrane). Grape seed extract is particularly effective in diabetic retinopathy, where elevated glucose levels damage the capillaries of the retina, causing them to become brittle, permeable, and prone to microaneurysms and haemorrhages.

Zinc lactate provides the body with bioavailable zinc, a trace element that is critical for eye health. The retina and choroid contain high concentrations of zinc. It is necessary for the functioning of more than 200 enzymes, including retinol dehydrogenase, which is involved in the synthesis of rhodopsin. Zinc protects the retina from oxidative damage by being part of superoxide dismutase, an antioxidant enzyme. It is also necessary for the transport of vitamin A from the liver to the retina. Zinc deficiency leads to night blindness (impaired twilight vision), decreased visual acuity, and increases the risk of age-related macular degeneration.

A large clinical study, AREDS2, showed that zinc supplements (along with vitamins C, E, lutein, and zeaxanthin) reduce the risk of age-related macular degeneration progression by 25%. Rosehip extract provides vitamin C, which is necessary for collagen synthesis in the sclera and cornea, strengthens capillaries, and has antioxidant properties. Nettle extract is rich in chlorophyll, vitamins A and C, and iron. Vitamin A (beta-carotene) is a precursor to retinal, which is a component of visual pigments.

Schisandra chinensis extract contains lignans (schisandrin) with adaptogenic and tonic properties. Schisandra improves visual acuity, accelerates the adaptation of the eyes to darkness, and increases the light sensitivity of the retina. It improves blood supply to the eyes and stimulates metabolism. Green tea extract contains epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), a powerful antioxidant that protects photoreceptors, retinal ganglion cells, and pigment epithelial cells from oxidative damage. EGCG has a neuroprotective effect, protecting the optic nerve from degeneration in glaucoma.

FIELD OF APPLICATION:

  • eye strain syndrome (asthenopia)
  • retinal degeneration
  • accommodation spasm (pseudomyopia)
  • retinal angiopathy (diabetic, atherosclerotic)
  • retinal detachment
  • optic nerve atrophy
  • impaired twilight and night vision
  • improved visual acuity
  • improved blood supply to the retina
  • age-related macular degeneration
  • myopia (short-sightedness)
  • prolonged computer use

ADVANTAGES:

Retisil is a natural multi-component formula for supporting eye health and preventing age-related changes. Blueberry juice concentrate with anthocyanins improves microcirculation in the retina, strengthens capillaries, protects photoreceptors from oxidative stress, stimulates rhodopsin regeneration - improves twilight and night vision, adaptation to darkness, visual acuity in low light, reduces eye fatigue, and is effective for myopia, diabetic retinopathy, and AMD. Cranberry juice concentrate with type A proanthocyanidins strengthens collagen in the capillary walls, improves elasticity and microcirculation in the retina.

Grape seed extract with OPCs is a powerful antioxidants that protect collagen and elastin in blood vessels and is especially effective for diabetic retinopathy. Zinc lactate is necessary for rhodopsin synthesis, vitamin A transport, and protection against oxidative stress, reducing the risk of AMD progression by 25%. Rosehip provides vitamin C for collagen and capillaries. Nettle is rich in vitamin A for visual pigments. Schisandra improves visual acuity, adaptation to darkness, and blood supply.

Green tea with EGCG protects photoreceptors, ganglion cells, and pigment epithelium, and has a neuroprotective effect.

The drug improves blood flow and metabolism in the retina, prevents optic nerve atrophy and angiopathy, supports and improves visual function, actively prevents degenerative changes, effectively relieves eye fatigue, prevents accommodation spasm, improves vision in twilight and night lighting, maintains visual acuity, and protects the eyes from adverse environmental factors. An indispensable aid for those who care about the health of their eyes.
