Modern life puts a tremendous strain on our eyesight. Long hours of working at a computer, using smartphones and tablets. The blue light from screens penetrates deep into the retina, causing oxidative stress and damage to photoreceptors. This leads to eye fatigue, dryness, redness and reduced visual acuity, especially at dusk. With age, the risks increase - presbyopia, cataracts, glaucoma and macular degeneration develop.

The B vitamin complex is critical for the functioning of the optic nerve and the transmission of nerve impulses. The AA-6 peptide complex is obtained from the retinas of young animals and contains short peptide sequences specific for the regulation of retinal cell metabolism. These peptides improve the functional interaction of the pigment epithelium and the outer segments of photoreceptors in dystrophic changes. They accelerate the restoration of retinal light sensitivity after overexertion or damage. They work on the principle of natural cell regulation through feedback mechanisms, triggering the body's own recovery processes at the genetic level.

Lutein is a yellow carotenoid that is concentrated in the macula (yellow spot) of the retina, the area of highest visual acuity. It performs two critically important functions: it acts as a natural light filter, absorbing the most aggressive blue part of the daylight spectrum and radiation from computer monitors, and acts as a powerful antioxidant, protecting photoreceptors from oxidative damage. The human body does not synthesise lutein - it must be obtained from external sources. Lutein deficiency accelerates the development of age-related macular degeneration - the leading cause of blindness in people over 50.

Astaxanthin from Haematococcus is the most powerful carotenoid for eye protection. Its antioxidant activity exceeds that of lutein by 5 times and vitamin E by 550 times. Astaxanthin easily penetrates the blood-retinal barrier and accumulates in the tissues of the eye, where it protects photoreceptors from oxidative stress, reduces inflammation and improves blood supply. Studies show that astaxanthin significantly reduces eye fatigue when working at a computer, improves accommodation, and increases depth of focus.

Dried blueberry juice is rich in anthocyanins, flavonoids with pronounced angioprotective effects. They strengthen the walls of the retinal capillaries, improve microcirculation, and reduce vascular permeability. Anthocyanins stimulate the regeneration of rhodopsin, a light-sensitive pigment in the retinal rods responsible for twilight vision. They improve the eyes' adaptation to darkness and increase visual acuity in low light conditions. Grape skin extract contains proanthocyanidins and resveratrol, which further improve microcirculation in the eye tissues.

Taurine is a sulphur-containing amino acid that is present in high concentrations in the retina. It participates in the transmission of light signals from photoreceptors to nerve cells, supports the structure and function of cell membranes, and protects against oxidative stress. A taurine deficiency disrupts the functioning of photoreceptors and can lead to their degeneration. Succinic acid has an antihypoxic effect on eye tissue, improving its energy metabolism and normalising the processes of proliferation and differentiation of new cells.
