Resveratrol inhibits the activation of stellate cells in the liver, which, when damaged, transform into myofibroblasts that produce collagen, the basis of fibrous tissue. This prevents the development of fibrosis and cirrhosis of the liver. Resveratrol also has antiviral properties, blocking the replication of hepatitis B and C viruses, reducing oxidative stress, and improving insulin sensitivity in fatty liver disease.

Dihydroquercetin is a bioflavonoid from Siberian larch with unique hepatoprotective properties. Its antioxidant activity surpasses that of most known natural antioxidants. Dihydroquercetin protects hepatocyte membranes from lipid peroxidation, the main mechanism of damage in toxic and viral hepatitis.
